Drinking water is the easiest initiative we can take when it comes to our health, but why don’t we do it? I know at times I am guilty of not drinking enough water.
Water is beneficial and important when it comes to the proper functioning of our bodies, especially our muscles and bodily fluids. The mucous membranes in our eyes, mouth and vagina (for those who have one!) require proper hydration.
Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day ensures natural lubrication, which is necessary when going through menopause, or taking medications with side effects of vaginal dryness, such as oral contraceptives.
I’m a Taurus, which apparently makes me some sort of an epicurean. I prefer my food (and drink) to be visually appealing. Whilst water does satisfy my fondness for the minimal aesthetic, sometimes it’s just too plain. That’s why I love detox water. There are endless concoctions; it takes less than 2 minutes to prepare; and there’s a wealth of health benefits.
Fruit-flavoured water is a great way to:
- keep hydrated;
- naturally boost your metabolism;
- burn fat whilst providing your body with vitamins and minerals; and
- flush toxins from your system.
With that said, drink up ladies and gents, or should I say, “bottoms up!”
